Series Two comprises materials which Holland McCombs organized by letters of the alphabet. Within each letter of the alphabet he divided materials into "A-People" and "B-Subject." The contents of Series Two are the "A-People" portions of the Holland McCombs Papers.

Series Four consists of materials, including many newspaper clippings, about the personal and political life of Texas politician Lyndon B. Johnson, frequently referred to only as LBJ, who rose from school teaching in the Lone Star State into local politics, the U.S. Senate where he was Majority Leader, to Vice Presidency, and into the White House upon the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.
Series Five consists of materials Holland McCombs collected while journalistically investigating the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas during 1963. Holland McCombs followed up his research while the Warren Commission was also conducting its inquiry. The materials includes Louisiana Attorney General's investigation, including the charging of New Orleans resident Clay Shaw [a Holland McCombs friend before and after the accusations]. Essentially Holland McCombs believes as the Warren Commission found. The materials contain many clippings from newspapers in various parts of the U.S.
Series Six consists of materials which Holland McCombs collected about the goals which Dallas set for itself in the 1960s.
Series Seven consists of materials Holland McCombs wrote himself, including autobiographical accounts, and information which he compiled about his ancestors and himself. The materials cover the years from the late 1800s until the early 1970s.
Series Eight consists of personal correspondence of Holland McCombs during the 1920s and 1930s.
Series Nine consists of materials Holland McCombs gathered for doing a history of Slick Airways, an air freight company in San Antonio, Texas and California during the 1940s and 1950s.
Series Ten consists of materials Holland McCombs gathered for a history of the Texas Instruments corporation.
Series Eleven deals with the tax, receipts, and accounts of Holland McCombs from 1947 to 1966. Because of the numerous items covered it was decided not to count the individual items.
Series Twelve consists of bookstore catalogues and maps which Holland McCombs collected in the course of his work and travels.
Series Thirteen concerns the Time-Life Books Gardening Series to which Holland McCombs contributed as a reporter.
Series Fourteen deals with the Time-Life Books Fabulous Century Series about the various decades of the 20th century, a series to which Holland McCombs contributed materials.
Series Fifteen is composed of Christmas cards which Holland McCombs received between the 1920s and the 1970s. In some boxes there is a Christmas card list of individuals and their addresses.
Series Sixteen contains tax records, business account records and miscellaneous check receipts and stubs from 1963 to 1967.
Series Seventeen consists of greeting cards and invitations from 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's.

Series Twenty-one consists of correspondence relating to the University of Tennessee. Includes information on the McCombs Center on the University of Tennessee at Martin campus.
Series Twenty-two consists of the personal data file of Holland McCombs. The bulk of the material is biographical.

Series Twenty-four deals with Holland McCombs correspondence from 1922 to 1950.

Series Twenty-eight has interviews by Diane Smith, Diane Bennett, General Bennett, as well as Chapters 1 through 18 of a manuscript. It includes history of the Durst Family, Atwood Family, Armstrong Family and ranch, correspondence, the Armstrong Chronicle, and first and final drafts.

Series Thirty contains articles from Texas newspapers and magazines, clippings about life on a Texas ranch and about life on a farm in Martin, Tennessee, Slick Airways news releases, life on Woodley Farm, check notes and bank statements, the trip to Australia, the rough draft of "The Big Thing," the Dodd and Freeman families, and letters and photographs.
Series Thirty-one contains Holland McCombs scrapbooks which he kept from the early 1900's to 1987.

Series Thirty-three contains Holland McCombs' material about John Connally, Lyndon B. Johnson, friends and family, photographs of Holland McCombs, his family and friends and photographs of Marina Oswald and Jack Ruby, the Warren Commission visit, the board and trial hearings of Jack Ruby and photograph albums. Series 33 also contains Box 396 which is photographs in an oversized box and is listed after Series 36, Box 395.
