| HISTORY NOTE : | McCracken and Company was a general store located in Huntington, Tennessee which bought and sold farm products, hardware, dry goods, groceries, etc. from the early 1870's to the turn of the century. |
| CONTENTS : | Contains financial records of debts and credits owed to the general store between 1871 and 1883. Includes the names of individuals and items purchased from the store. It is important to note that the ledger was entitled "Company Clothing" and was used briefly in Paducah, Kentucky as an account book for the 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry from 1863 to 1864. A majority of the material, however, represents the business activities of McCracken and Company. |
