HISTORY NOTE : | Hilt Forcrum & Co. was a lumber company organized at around the turn of the 20th century in Obion, Tennessee. The name was changed to the Forcrum & James Cooperage and Lumber Company in 1914. The company would grow to four retail lumber yards prior to the Great Depression. The current company, now called Forcrum-Lannom Inc., resides in Dyersburg, Tennessee and produces building materials of various types. |
CONTENTS : | Consists of business and personal correspondence from company president Hilt Forcrum from 1903 to 1918. Includes letters discussing the Paducah to Memphis Highway Movement, plans to purchase and construct a steel bridge over the Obion River, and miscellaneous bills of sale and photographs. |
