John H. Reed was a resident of Dyersburg, Tennessee (Dyer County) and owner
of Reed's Drug Store during the later part of the 19th century and early part
of the 20th century. His father of the same name served as a captain in the
American Civil War with Company G of the First Alabama Cavalry, United States
Volunteers. The collection contains letters of John H. Reed and his father.
The bulk of the material consists of business correspondence from 1920 to 1950.
Included are documents and letters relating to the American Civil War.
