| HISTORY NOTE : | The Tennessee Bicentennial Commission was established by Executive Order no. 51 by Governor Ned Ray McWherter on June 1, 1992. The executive order declared that a commission be organized by the Tennessee General Assembly and the Governor to develop statewide and local programs commemorating Tennessee's admission to the United States in 1796. |
