Malcolm G. Koch is Instructor of Political Science at The University of Tennessee at Martin. Dr. Koch is also the Executive Director of the Center for International Education. He has a B.A. from Vanderbilt University, an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University. Upon completing his graduate work, Dr. Koch began a 30 year career in international banking which included assignments in New York and Chicago and 12 years of overseas assignments in Europe and the Middle East.
Dr. Koch teaches upper division courses in International Politics drawing on his international experience and utilizing an inter-disciplinary approach. He is also the coordinator of a new International Security Studies concentration in Political Science. A number of prominent foreign affairs professionals come to campus annually to supplement Dr. Koch’s course offerings. He now leads a yearly “international” travel study trip to Washington D.C. which exposes students to international careers and provides internship opportunities. His community service includes serving as Treasurer of the Tennessee District Export Council of the U.S. Department of Commerce and as Treasurer of his church.
