Mason M.S. Kim is Assistant Professor of Political Science at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh after completing his B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature at Myongji University (South Korea), M.A. in Chinese Studies at Sogang University (South Korea), and M.A. in Political Science at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Dr. Kim teaches introductory courses in comparative politics and world politics and Asia-related upper-level courses. Prior to coming to UT Martin, he taught at Tulane University as a visiting assistant professor and the University of Pittsburgh as a lecturer. He has published several journal articles and book chapters, and his current research project is investigating how different types of electoral rules and party systems affect social policies in developing democracies.
