Students who have Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit, which includes AP Exam and CLEP credit, may be able to use their scores to meet prerequisite requirements for dual-enrollment courses. Please review the steps below to ensure your credit is processed correctly.
1.View the PLA Credit Tables
Please review the UT Martin PLA Credit Tables regarding exam credit for courses.
2. Submit Your Official Score Report
Please send official CollegeBoard scores or certificates to the following:
Office of UTM Dual Enrollment
110 Gooch Hall/538 University Street
Martin, TN 38238
*Unofficial score reports or screenshots cannot be accepted. Academic Records will not accept a student score report.
3. Wait for Credit Evaluation
Once the UTM Dual Enrollment office receives the student’s official scores, we will evaluate them to determine if the course prerequisites are met.
We will then forward the score report to the Academic Records Office for official evaluation and apply any eligible credits to the student record. Please note that the student cannot register for the course that requires this prerequisite until the credit has been officially awarded. Please plan ahead to avoid registration delays.
4. PLA Credit Grading
PLA credits applied to your record will appear as a P (Pass) grade.
