HISTORY NOTE : | The William S.S. Harris Dry Goods store conducted business in Troy, Tennessee during the early half of the 1830's. The proprietor, William S.S. Harris, is considered to be one of the first merchants to have operated a business in Obion County. He later ventured into the law profession becoming a prominent attorney, county clerk, State Senator, and probate judge. |
