UT Martin offers the only four-year K-12 dance education program in Tennessee. The dance education emphasis includes classes in various dance techniques, movement composition, performance, history, and a solid foundation in dance pedagogy, educational theories, and practical applications regarding teaching dance at all grade levels in public school systems. Students who pass the associated performance-based assessment and support system EdTPA will be licensed to teach K-12 dance in the state of Tennessee.
“I have had many opportunities already, and I just finished my freshman year! I was honored to perform four times this past semester at UTM, twice in our ensemble performances, once for the chancellor's breakfast, and once more for the annual night of dance. UTM is a wonderful place for opportunities to perform and share my love for the arts! ”
