Martin Community Band
The Martin Community Band is open to woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians of all ages, backgrounds, and professions, from middle school musicians to retirees, from novices to professionals, free of charge. From its beginnings in the summer of 2013, the ensemble has grown to be a large and successful band that presents at least three concerts each summer.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from late May through the end of June. There will be two rehearsals before each of the three concerts. Concerts are every other Thursday. The wide variety of music selection is accessible to almost all ability levels and is of excellent quality.
There is no audition required to perform in the Martin Community Band. Simply complete the registration form and come to the first rehearsal with your instrument. If you want to play and do not own an instrument, please contact John Oelrich (joelrich@utm.edu) to make arrangements to rent one.
All rehearsals are in the Band Room (FA 136) of the University of Tennessee at Martin Fine Arts Building (16 Mt. Pelia Road, Martin, TN).
It doesn’t matter how long it has been since you have played your instrument, you are good enough for us. We would love to have all woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians in the area join us for music, fun, and fellowship.
In order to plan for folders, shirts, programs, etc., please register to participate.
