Program Services
The Infant Stimulation Program (ISP), established in 1976, has a rich history of providing early intervention services to children and families in Northwest Tennessee. The Infant Stimulation Program is funded and licensed by the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) and is supported through a partnership with Tennessee’s Early Intervention System (TEIS).
ISP staff provide a free home visiting early intervention service that provides developmental therapy and on-going developmental assessments for children, birth up to three years of age. Staff collaborate with families through meaningful and respectful relationships while focusing on the priorities of the family for the child, following the Family-Guided Routine Based Intervention (FGRBI) model of service delivery.
Services are provided in Benton, Carroll, Henry, Lake, Obion, and Weakley Counties.
Eligibility
The journey to enroll in early intervention services with the Infant Stimulation Program starts with Tennessee’s Early Intervention System (TEIS). TEIS is the agency that determines if a child is eligible for early intervention services. If the child meets eligibility, TEIS will contact ISP to set up services for the family.
A child is eligible for early intervention services based on the child’s doctor’s information or if the child has a diagnosed condition. A child may also be determined eligible through a developmental evaluation. A child is eligible for services if the evaluation shows a 25% delay in two developmental areas or a 40% delay in one area.
