Hallie Abernthy
Hallie Abernthy is a rising junior marketing major at UT Martin. She serves as the College Panhellenic President and is a student assistant for the Office of Student Life. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, she loves UTM, the city of Martin, and all things she has had the opportunity to do and experience here. In her free time, she loves to shop, is an avid runner, enjoys volunteering for causes in the community, and grabbing loaded tea with her friends.
Mekenzie Coleman
Mekenzie Coleman is a UT Martin alumnus who earned her bachelor’s in Mass Media and Strategic Communication. She devoted most of her time to the student newspaper, The Pacer, working her way up from an editorial assistant to the executive editor. Since graduating, she spends her time building her art and graphic design portfolio and plans to work with an author to illustrate her second children’s book this summer. Mekenzie’s life goal is to hoard as many hobbies as she can keep up with and become a well-rounded creative with a solid connection to her community.
Anthony Lain
Anthony Lain is a senior political science major at the University of Tennessee at Martin. At UT Martin, Anthony studies in the University Scholars Program, where he serves as President of the University Scholars Organization. Outside of the classroom, Anthony serves as a Senator in the Student Government Association and a member of the Student Alumni Council. He has also previously worked as Head Student Manager for the UT Martin Men’s Basketball team and as a student representative for the College of Business and Global Affairs Advisory Board. His interests include playing intramural sports, listening to music, and traveling. Following his studies at UT Martin, Anthony plans to attend law school and pursue a career as an attorney. Anthony is an alumnus of the 2021 TN Governor’s School for Humanities and worked as a Resident Counselor for the 2023 GSH. He is excited to be back as a Resident Counselor for GSH this summer!
Tate Bell
My name is Tate Bell. I am from Martin, TN. I am the daughter of Chris and Tracey Bell of Martin. I have won 3 basketball state championships. Throughout high school I was in many clubs and held leadership positions. I worked with a Pediatrician my senior year of high school because I finished all my coursework. Through the coursework I am certified in heimlich, OSHA, HIPPA and CPR. I am currently a junior at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. My major is Biology Pre-professional with a desire to become a pediatrician! I am currently working as well as interning at the Children’s Hospital. I joined Chi Omega my freshman year and am viewed as someone to answer questions and a leader. Throughout my time in Martin I do summer camps and shadow other Pediatric MDs.
