The Office of Multicultural Affairs supports the operation and development of several student organizations. These organizations aim to provide cultural awareness and education to our campus community. Additionally, they are often a safe space for students from historically underrepresented to find community and belonging.
Black Student Association
The purpose of The Black Student Association is to create a better relationship among students, administration, faculty and staff; to encourage greater participation in school activities; and to secure representation in all phases of campus activities on behalf of students! Our vision is to project those voices that are many times overlooked and give them the opportunity to be boldly heard!
International Club
Our mission is to promote, maintain, strengthen, and expand relations between International Students and American Students on campus, through collaborative initiatives, cultural activities, and social engagements. Moreover, the International Club strives to project the value and importance of global awareness not just within the University but also in the community, help nurture the current initiatives of the University of Tennessee at Martin in advancing internationalism, multiculturalism, and diversity, and to support these initiatives and this important cornerstone of the university’s mission statements and values.
Korean Student and Culture Club
The Korean Student and Culture Club is a social and cultural club that helps Korean and TIEP students adjust to life in Martin, TN. We are dedicated to sharing Korean culture involving food, games, music, and more with the students at the University of Tennessee Martin.
Latin Hispanic Student Association
The purpose of the Latin Hispanic Student Association is to increase the interest and awareness of Latin Hispanic cultures among all students on the UTM campus. Our group hosts a variety of on-campus events and activities to encourage diversity on the UTM campus.
Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences
To provide a framework for the academic, professional and social development of minority students within the fields of Agriculture and Related Sciences, and to reflect the purpose stated by the national society of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences.
Spectrum
As a student organization, SPECTRUM strives to provide a safe and tolerant environment for all members of the University of Tennessee Martin Campus. We welcome and encourage participation of students, faculty, graduates, and community members of all sexual orientations and identities. As a LGBTQIA organization, we strive to raise awareness of diversity and hopefully unite our community. Our goal is to eliminate discrimination through understanding and acceptance. By means of several social, political, and informative events throughout the school year, we hope to provide group members with a strong support system.
SPECTRUM at the University of Tennessee at Martin is a group of students and faculty who strive to make the UTM campus a more inclusive and diverse place by encouraging the voices of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual students and their Straight allies. SPECTRUM is open to all members of the Martin, Tennessee, community and surrounding areas.
Women’s Student Alliance
The Women's Student Alliance (WSA) at The University of Tennessee at Martin is dedicated to enhancing academic experiences while empowering students through the development and promotion of education and social initiatives. To fulfill the mission, the WSA works in tandem with the UTM Women's Center to provide students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community with information, services, and programs that address matters of particular concern to women- while exploring gender, race, economic status, sexual orientation, culture, religion, political views, and other significant elements in relation to women's uniqueness and collective identity. The WSA plays an essential role in representing student interests at the UTM Women's Center.
Women of Excellence
The purpose of Women of Excellence (WOX) shall be to encourage, empower, and support women of color at UTM through leadership and personal development, mentoring, and social activities that are centered around our interests.
Men of Excellence
Men of Excellence (MoX) provides mentoring and programming which supports personal growth and holistic success for Men of Color at UTM.
Under the Influence: Fashion Society
Under the Influence: Fashion Society is an organization that is formed with the purpose of allowing students to use their voices through their talents via fashion. The organization will allow students with a passion for design or talent through art such as makeup artists, hairstylists, models, seamstresses, photographers, etc. to express themselves and showcase it.
