Citations
Citations are written throughout the entire year, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year if school is in session or not.

Citations may be paid online through the portal or in person with cash or check at the Traffic Office or Bursar's Office. Credit /debit payments or electronic check, ACH payments are only accepted online.
Computers are available in the offices for use to make online payments.
Appeals
Citations must be appealed within fourteen (14) calendar days of receiving a parking citation. After fourteen (14) calendar days of the citation's issuance the right to appeal the citation is forfeited. If you submit an appeal, you will be notified by e-mail of the appeal decision. Please allow up to two weeks to receive the decision.
The following reasons are not acceptable for dismissing a citation and not valid as the basis for appeal:
- Parking on campus without purchasing a current UT Martin parking permit
- Lack of knowledge of the regulations or did not see posted regulation/signage
- Other vehicles were parked improperly
- Only parked illegally for a short period of time/blinkers were on
- Failure of officer to ticket previously for similar offenses
- Late to class or appointment
- Inability to pay the amount of the fine
- No other place to park
- Permission to park given by anyone other than the UT Martin Traffic Office or UT Martin Police Officer
- Inclement weather conditions
- Parked in a Handicap Accessible spot
Appeal parking citation

Parking citation appeals must be made within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of issuance. Persons who fail to appeal a parking citation within fourteen (14) calendar days of the citation's issuance forfeit their right to appeal the citation.
If the appeal is denied the original fine amount will be due for seven (7) calendar days after the notification of the results of the Appeals Board (recorded at the top of the appeal decision e-mail). After seven (7) calendar days a $20.00 late charge will be applied to the original fine.
The Parking and Traffic Appeals Board is composed of faculty, staff and students. The decision of the Appeals Board is the FINAL appeals process available through the University.
