The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is responsible for oversight of the animal care and use programs at UT Martin. This committee is mandated by Federal law to ensure the humane and ethical treatment of animals. All requests to conduct research with animals are reviewed by the IACUC, which is composed of scientists, non-scientists, and members of the community. The IACUC also conducts regular inspections of animal use areas and the institutional program from animal use.
