The Student Success Center is dedicated to helping transfer and non-traditional students succeed. In addition to the academic support and resources our office offers in general, we would like to highlight the following opportunities for transfer students to engage and connect with campus:

Transfer Boot Camp

Register here

Transfer Boot Camp is a free immersive experience that allows new transfer and non-traditional students to connect with faculty, staff, peers, and campus as a whole. Generally held the third weekend in July, students begin the camp experience at UT Martin and then travel to Camp Linden for activities such as rope courses, ziplining, and/or tubing down the river. This unique opportunity gives students the chance to work one-on-one with faculty and build connections that will last their entire time at UTM.

Registration limited to first 30 applicants.

Welcome Weekend

Welcome Weekend is UTM’s kickoff for the Fall semester to welcome all students to campus. For Fall 2024, Welcome Weekend begins on Thursday, August 22nd, with our annual Welcome Home picnic and continues Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with activities meant to engage, educate, and welcome new students to UTM!

GENS 101

Many college orientation courses are geared toward first-time freshmen, but we’ve designed a section of our GENS 101 specifically for transfer and non-traditional students at UT Martin. This course provides students with guidance on how to be successful as UT Martin students. GENS 101 will provide you with insights on campus and community resources, networking opportunities, and how to make a smooth transition to UTM! Ask your faculty advisor or success counselor about adding this course to your schedule.

National Transfer Student Week

This nationwide event is celebrated annually during the third week of October. In Fall 2024, UT Martin will have a full schedule of events to celebrate and honor our transfer student population. Be on the lookout for more information as we gear up for the fall semester!
