Do I need to register my vehicle if I park on campus?
Yes, All motor vehicles operated (utilized) by faculty, staff, students in connection with their employment or attendance at UT Martin must be registered at the UT Martin Department of Public Safety in Crisp Hall. This includes residents of Grove Apartments, University Courts, visitors, vendors, rental and temporary vehicles using University parking lots.
How do I register my vehicle and where do I pick it up my permit?
Students, faculty and staff are required to register for their UT Martin parking permit online. Parking permits will be available for pick up at Public Safety in Crisp Hall, Monday – Friday between 8am and 4:45pm.
Where do I put the parking permit on my vehicle?
Parking permits are to be displayed on the bottom of the Driver’s side front windshield on the inside.

Limited parking is available on the city streets adjacent to campus without a UT Martin Parking Permit.

Yes, parking permits are valid for an entire Academic Year (August 15th to August 15th)
What happens if I need to drive a different vehicle than registered?
Parking permits are transferable and may be used for another vehicle that you drive. If you forget to move your parking permit, a temporary parking pass can be issued by the Traffic Office at no charge. You will need the license plate number of the vehicle you are driving to obtain a temporary parking pass.
Does a visitor on campus need a parking pass?
Visitors are always welcome at UT Martin and must obtain a visitors parking permit at no charge at the Department of Public Safety 24 hours a day. The visitor will need the license plate number of the vehicle they are driving to obtain a permit.

Citations are written throughout the entire year, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year if school is in session or not.
Who can park in an Unrestricted or Non-designated lot?
Unrestricted and Non-designated lots are for faculty, staff, and students who have registered their vehicle, no matter their designation (staff, commuter, non-commuter). It is also for any vehicle that has a visitor pass or a temporary pass issued from the University of Tennessee Martin.
Are there enough available parking spaces on campus?
There is more than enough available parking on campus. Unfortunately, we cannot get them as close as everyone wants them to be. Lot 1 (stadium lot) and Lot 2 (by pacer pond and tennis courts) always have available parking spots in them. From either of those lots to most academic and residential buildings is less than a 5-minute walk.
Can I appeal a parking citation?
Yes, Citations must be appealed within fourteen (14) calendar days of receiving a parking citation. After fourteen (14) calendar days of the citation's issuance the right to appeal the citation is forfeited.
What can I do if my vehicle won’t start?
On Campus - Contact the Department of Public Safety at (731) 881-7777. Tell the dispatcher you need your vehicle jump started. Give the best description of your location as possible. All lots have a number posted on a sign at the entrance to the lot. If you do not know this number, tell which buildings you are around or can see. Also tell where you are located in the lot and a description of your vehicle (color, make, model, license plate, etc.). Raise the hood of your vehicle and flag the officer down when they approach. Officers typically respond within a few minutes, but it may take longer if they are on another call. Please be patient.

How can I pay for a parking permit or parking citation?
Cash or check payments can be made at the Traffic Office or Bursar's Office. Any change over $5 needs to be rolled.
